Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection

Lasting Power of Attorney

Creation of a Lasting Power of Attorney can be an important step in your retirement planning. Making a Lasting Power of Attorney allows you to appoint a competent and trusted individual to help you manage your financial affairs, or if you were ever to lose mental capability allow them to look after your financial affairs on your behalf.

A registered Lasting Power of Attorney will assist your family members in dealing with your financial affairs should you lose your mental capability and avoid the additional stress, time and cost involved in making an application to the Court of Protection. It can also provide you with security and peace of mind to know someone is able to assist you with your finances if you were to fall ill, require hospital treatment or simply find it difficult to get out and about.

Please contact us to make an appointment to discuss your situation and requirements.

Court of Protection

If you need to manage the financial affairs of a family member who is no longer able to deal with these themselves, you may need to apply to the Court of Protection to be appointed as their Deputy.

At Aspinall & Co our experienced and sympathetic solicitors can assist you in completion of the application forms and in obtaining an order to best deal with your loved ones’ situation.
